Legacy guides a storyteller through their life story one chapter at a time. For each question, the storyteller can answer by voice (with automatic transcription) or by writing. After each answer, Legacy's AI generates a contextual follow-up question based on what was just shared — exploring details that a predetermined prompt alone might not surface.

Answers are organized into 10 structured life chapters — Childhood, Family, Love & Marriage, Work & Career, Proudest Moments, Hardship & Resilience, Values & Beliefs, Lessons, Funny Memories, and Traditions — plus the ability to create custom chapters. Family members can participate by taking quizzes about the storyteller's chapters, asking their own questions, and contributing their own memories.

When the story is complete, it can be printed as a professionally bound hardcover or paperback memoir.
